Rest In Peace
This one hurts. Chris was a monster talent. While I respect and enjoy his work with Soundgarden and Audioslave I must admit that it is his body of solo work that speaks to me the most. It is raw, honest, powerful and eclectic.
This song in particular....and this whole album really...is my favorite thing he put out into this world...in retrospect it even sounds like a goodbye.
I offer this... my take on this great somber song... in hopes that some of you enjoy it. I am out of practice and I did my best. Chris is a tough talent to try and do justice.
It was one year ago (May 18 2017) that Chris took his own life after losing a long fight to his on again off again battle with addiction and persistent depression.
